Symposium: An even Colder War?

On Friday March 3, Urios is hosting its first symposium of the academic year! The symposium “An even Colder War?” will discuss the rising tensions in Western-Russo relations, which have found their expression through the annexation of the Crimea and the Syrian Civil War, among others. These and other related topics, such as the migration crisis, human rights violations in Syria, the conflict in Ukraine, and the Trump Presidency will be discussed through four lectures.
Afterwards, a discussion panel and Q&A session will take place!
Speakers include:
– Jos van der Linden, History Professor at University College Utrecht
– Mr. Horin, Ambassador of Ukraine in the Netherlands
– Sander van Hoorn, NOS-correspondent in the Middle East
– Tony van der Togt, former Ambassador in Kazakhstan and Russia, former Special Advisor at OSCE, former Head of Eastern Europe/Central Asia division at Ministry of Foreign Affairs
When? Friday, March 3, from 17.00 until 20.30. Registration will start at 16:30.
